Candy Corn Cows and De Fluffing Day 53

Candy Corn Cows and De Fluffing Day 53
9 September 2012

So business first. Today is day 53 of the DeFluffing. I’ve lost a total of 13. 5 pounds!!!! The Prince Consort and I are walking over 4 and some days more than 5 miles on the White Hall walking paths. (No matter how the steers jeer. And trust me, I know that ‘mooing’ is bovine for, “The Morons are back. Come on, guys, let’s watch ‘em flail and hustle. Is it my imagination or do they move a little faster toward the end? Must have hay waiting for them at home.)

Not hay, but something that’s put the weight loss in peril. A dear friend of mine, Han, (yes, I’m using your name because it’s all your fault. So there!) sent me a heads up on a new Oreo. CANDY CORN!! While I have a hard time remembering if I put on underpants, (a story for another day, but let it be said there are reasons I no longer play doubles tennis.) Han has a superb memory and thought of my addiction to Candy Corn when she saw the new limited edition Oreos.
Yes. I ran out and snapped up a bag. And because I am a scientist (in my own way), I had to purchase a bag of authentic Candy Corn for a taste comparison. Tonight is the big taste test. I’ve saved up calories for the occasion. Which translates to: don’t anyone get in my way when it’s time for dessert tonight!
And no, one of the cattle, did not follow me home to rob me of my candy corn and Oreos. This terra cotta pot cow is the official candy corn guard. It is well known that terra cotta pot cows are vicious defenders of candy corn.

Kath who is trying to remember how to lure Candy Corn Cow away from the candy corn.

  1. Congratulations on the missing pounds! I am shaking my head at your candy corn obsession -- I never much liked it, even as a kid.
